Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5 Year Old Scotch Whisky is a bold, smoky dram from the rugged Isle of Islay. It's made for people who love intense, peaty flavors with a raw edge. It may be young, but it still packs a big taste. It feels exciting and true to Ardbeg's smoky style.
The first sip brings heavy peat smoke and a salty, sea-spray note. Then come crisp fruit, bright citrus and dry wood smoke. The flavor is punchy and rich. It lingers for a long time.
The aroma is clearly peaty, with sea spray, smoked malt and bonfire wood. A fresh apple note sits underneath. It's full-bodied but not harsh. The finish stays long and smoky, with a squeeze of lemon peel.
This single malt is made from peated malt at Ardbeg on Islay. It is aged in ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks. It's bottled at 47.4% ABV. Try a first sip neat, then add a few drops of water to open it up. Pair it with smoked meats, BBQ, blue cheese, oysters or dark chocolate. It's a perfect pick for whisky lovers who enjoy powerful, smoky drams.
