(Quantity : 1 Cigar) León Jimenes No. 4 – Smooth Dominican Connecticut Cigar | CigarHaus
The León Jimenes No. 4 is a classic Dominican cigar produced by La Aurora, combining a silky Connecticut Shade wrapper with Dominican binder and filler tobaccos. La Aurora describes the León Jimenes Connecticut line as delivering a smooth, soft smoking experience, making the No. 4 an approachable choice for both newer cigar smokers and experienced aficionados looking for something refined and easygoing.
Measuring 5 9/16” × 42, the No. 4 offers the elegant proportions of a traditional Corona. Expect a creamy smoke with cedar, nuts and warming spice, complemented by touches of sweetness and dried fruit.
Flavour Profile
- Creamy tobacco
- Cedar
- Toasted nuts
- Nutmeg
- Gentle baking spice
- Raisin-like sweetness
- Light earth
- Smooth, lingering finish
Cigar Aficionado awarded the León Jimenes No. 4 88 points, highlighting its thick, creamy smoke and notes of nutmeg, raisin and spicy gingersnap.
Why It Stands Out
The León Jimenes Connecticut blend has deep roots in Dominican cigar making. According to La Aurora, the blend originally used tobacco exclusively from the Cibao Valley of the Dominican Republic, with Nicaraguan tobacco later incorporated to improve consistency in flavour and aroma. The binder remains tobacco from the Cibao Valley.
The relatively slender 42 ring gauge also gives the No. 4 a different experience from today’s larger Robustos and Gordos. It’s a classic format that places greater emphasis on the wrapper and delivers a refined smoking experience without requiring an exceptionally long session.

*La Aurora notes that Nicaraguan tobacco was later incorporated into the León Jimenes Connecticut blend, while Cigar Aficionado’s tested No. 4 lists Dominican filler. Because blend specifications can vary by market/release, I would avoid stating “100% Dominican filler” on the product page.
Perfect For
An excellent choice for morning or afternoon smoking, golf outings, newer cigar smokers, Connecticut-wrapper enthusiasts, or experienced smokers looking for a smoother alternative to heavier Nicaraguan and Maduro blends.
Pairing Suggestions
