Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz
Give no ordinary gift this festive season with the Holiday Collection by NIGO. A limited release to mark 180 years of innovative winemaking at Penfolds. NIGO, Penfolds first Creative Partner, has designed this collectible blue gift box to accompany Bin 28, our benchmark Shiraz. Full-bodied, generous and approachable upon release yet with the cellaring potential of 20+ years.
First released in 1959, Penfolds Bin 28 is a hallmark of the Penfolds collection, representing the estate’s warm-climate winemaking style. Originally sourced from the Barossa Valley, it now includes fruit from multiple regions across South Australia, showcasing the depth and consistency of Penfolds winemaking heritage.
This full-bodied Shiraz is aged in seasoned American oak hogsheads, delivering a richly textured wine with bold fruit and spice. Crafted to evolve beautifully with cellaring, it offers both immediate appeal and long-term potential.
- Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, cassis, cedar, clove and vanilla.
- Rich palate of raspberry, chocolate, dried cranberry and spice with subtle cola and barrel notes.
- Long, smooth finish with fleshy texture, integrated tannins and hints of tobacco and dark chocolate.
Pairs well with chargrilled ribeye, herb-crusted lamb, and mushroom risotto.
