Preview & Predict (Before Audio Starts)
Read the instructions first to confirm word limits (e.g., NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS).
Underline unchangeable keywords (dates, names, technical terms).
Predict the required grammar type (noun, number, adjective, verb).
Track & Filter (While Listening)
Follow the speaker’s signposts (however, on the other hand, originally).
Beware of self-correction traps where a speaker revises their initial statement.
If you miss an answer, let it go immediately so you don’t lose track of subsequent questions.
Check & Transfer (After Audio Ends)
Check plurals: Ensure singular/plural nouns match both the audio and sentence grammar.
Verify spelling: Minor typos score zero.
Adhere to word limits: Numbers and hyphenated words count as single units.
Do not just check your final band score. For every incorrect question:
Check the script to see how the answer was paraphrased.
Re-listen to the specific 15-second snippet to catch missed accents or connected speech.
Note recurring weaknesses (spelling slips, missed plurals, or distractor traps) in your revision log.
