Effective file management is an essential computer skill. Files contain
information such as documents, images, videos, spreadsheets, and
presentations, while folders help organize these files in a structured way.
Folders can organize documents according to project, department, date,
subject, or purpose. A structured folder system makes information easier
to locate.
Copying creates another version of a file in a different location, while
moving changes the location of the original file. Learners will practice
both operations using File Explorer.
File extensions help identify file types. Examples include DOCX for Word
documents, XLSX for Excel workbooks, PPTX for PowerPoint presentations,
JPG and PNG for images, and PDF for portable documents.
Learners will be able to create, organize, locate, copy, move, rename,
and manage files and folders efficiently.
